Posted: Feb 07, 2008 11:09 PM	Roof Decking Mason, We are about to start a roof job that consist of corrugated roof decking.The corrugation is 4 inches deep and 3 inches across.We have done similar jobs but this is the deepest I've ever done.The application calls for 2 inches from the top of the corrugation and a smooth surface.What would be the fastest way to fill in the valleys in the corrugation and then apply 2 inches of foam on top.Would saws or a push behind machine work better.The roof is about 250,000 ft so the fastest way would be helpful. mason Posted: Feb 09, 2008 11:52 AM	You could fill the flutes a number of ways. 1. Spray foam in the flutes, cut the foam level to the top of the flute and then spray the remainder of the foam. (Technique was used by Brazos Urethane on the Super Dome) Saws worked faster, because it is easier to clean up. 2. Fill the flutes with fastening cut sheathing such as polyiso board, then spray over it. 3. Fasten a roofing mesh (used for flashing details on parapet edges, etc) over the metal and then spray foam over it. The foam will go through the mesh and adhere to the metal below it. It won't completely fill the flute but does leave a relatively smooth surface. Succesfully used on more than 3 million sq ft of roofing on the Gulf Coast of Mississippi, went through two major hurricanes including Katrina. This application is very fast, Just roll out 2 or 3 sections of the asphalt impregnated roofing mesh overlapping about 3-4 inches, install fasteners on the corners and spray foam.
