Spray Foam Over Vinyl-backed Insulation?
Rookie here. I am trying to line up some projects for our new rig so that after our training we get some experience without using customers as ginnea pigs.I have an indoor gun range at my house. It is a metal building with vinyl-backed insulation. Can we spray foam over this insulation? I'm assuming not, but thought I'd ask. |

This is where things get interesting! The answer is YES you can spray over vinyl! A few years ago we sprayed foam for a monolithic dome house and basically sprayed 3 inches of closed cell foam to the inside of a vinyl balloon. But first the vinyl had to be coated with a primer so that the foam would stick to the vinyl. The primer that was used on that project came from Bay-systems and they have primers for a lot of applications. Otherwise it depends on the condition of the vinyl insulation. Airpro |
