Spray Foaming a Barge
What kind of red tape would I have to cross to spray foam a barge that is in a port?

Need to use a pour foam that has passed coast guard approvals.
Para. (c) 30 day gasoline test
Para. (g) 30 day oil test
Para. (e) 30 day bilge cleaner test
Make sure everything is dry!

i use duct tape a hole bunch,,
and sometimes the real expensive blue masking tape,,,
i havent used red tape for ages,,,
it aint compatible with the foam and it will give off fosdine gas,,and if it is contained could be fatal....
i did a 12' john boat once and the duct tape worked great,,,
it was on a trailer,,,
next to a van,,,
down by the river,,,

hi gorgeous george!!

So I couldn't just use a 2.5 lb closed cell foam to spray on the walls and floor?

Hey bdtx22

There is a difference in applying Flotation Foam that is Coast Guard Approved and simply insulating the interior of a barge.

It depends on the use. If it is for floatation and you are only using 2.5 # Closed Cell, you will be held liable by the Coast Guard should that vessel go down under any circumstance.

If the application is for other reasons, then you are okay.

I have boats that use closed cell to insulate ice holds, fuel tanks, water tanks, etc...

Just depends on the use!
