Spraying foam on military canvas tents in Iraq.
GREAT,COOL,SAVING THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS.But!!!!! Service men and women are living and working inside these tents seperated from the foam by only the canvas material.I don't think canvas is an approved 15 minute thermal barrier. What are your thoughts.

The military can still use R-11 foam if they wish,(which is what the Saudi's use) so I doubt if they are much concerned about building codes in tents. We have worked on the Air Force base in Dayton, and they tend to make their own rules. oG |

It is true that the military does not use the same requirements as your typical building codes. I mentioned this to one Army Corp of Engineer staff person about a thermal barrier over the foam. He said "where we are using the foam, guys are shooting bullets and rockets at us." We are not as concerned as others about the fire issue". |
