Techniques to avoid warped ceiling drywall when using cc foam
Mason, I've read the past posts and understand the causes of warped drywall to be foam shrinkage, misapplication or a bad mix. If there were a poly vapor barrier between the drywall and the ceiling joists wouldn't that effectively decouple the foam from the drywall and prevent any warping? Would a 1" batt of mineral wool do the same? I'm a builder not a sprayer. Thanks, Bob

You really don't want to put a vapor retarder against the closed cell foam. If you install the foam correctly, it will not warp the drywall. Just don't spray it too thick or spray the lifts too soon after the first lift. |
