Will Moisture Shrink Foam ?
If we run an air driven Guardian A5 with 7.5hp compressor w/ aftercooler and auto drain in New England do you think that moisture in the air lines will cause an imbalance in the formulation of water blown closed-cell foam that may result in shrinking or bad foam ? If not through the machine pistons/pumps, could this occur when the gun trigger is released and the Probler P2 air purge blows air onto freshly sprayed foam between gun passes ? Thanks for any input or speculation with this. Just wondering about potential pitfalls of running our proportioner without an air dryer.

You need dry air going through your air lines, especially with an air purge gun. Yes, moisture in your air lines will cause contamination leading to off spec or off ratio foam, poor adhesion, poor physical properties and lower density foam. All of those conditions can lead to shrinkage and other negative consequences. |
