To meet a project’s specification, accuracy and precision are the lifeblood of a successful spray foam application. Every aspect of a proportioner’s operation–temperature, pressure, the amount of material, and so on–must be carefully monitored in order to deliver the a suitable application. But ensuring the correct parameters isn’t always an easy task, and it can be downright daunting when a contracting company is tackling multiple projects simultaneously. Still, contractors have been surmounting these difficulties over the years, and quite successfully considering the industry’s continuing growth, although it has been at the expense of time and energy. Recently, advances in mobile technology have landed vast computing power in the hands of contractors, regardless of where they’re located, but the technology has yet to impact the equipment that applies SPF–that is, until now. In October, Graco Inc. debuted a new piece of technology, called Graco InSite™, that brings critical jobsite information to project managers’ fingertips.
“This is the first time you can be away from the machine and see what it’s doing, so this is a Graco first,” explained Sara McKeon, product marketing manager for Graco.
