A spray foam application begins with the chemicals: a drum containing A-component (isocyanate) and a drum containing B-component (polyol resin). The first critical juncture is the transfer of the chemicals, the link between the drums and the proportioner. To facilitate this important process of all SPF applications comes International Pump Manufacturings’ (IPM) best model yet: the OP300S.

The OP300S is classified as a “stubby”, that is to say, a shorter version of the standard stick pump. It is a pneumatic, or air-driven, pump. There are a handful of advantages that a pneumatic transfer pump has that makes it more user-friendly, and ultimately, more enticing than a hydraulic or an electric pump, which is why IPM focuses on only manufacturing air-operated pumps. For installers in the spray foam business who are constantly working with flammable chemicals, an air pump reduces the possibility of a spark, which could be hazardous. Also, the overall cleaning process is easier overall with pneumatic pumps.
